Short Week/Long Weekend

This is a short week and I have been off all week.  For a short week, it has felt long.  We has the holiday for the day of the dead on Monday, so it made a long weekend.  Most people went out of town.  I was planning to go on an overnight hike outside of La Paz (the capital and one of the world's highest cities).  However, I managed to hurt a couple of my toes where it would have been too painful to go down the mountain for 11 hours.  I chose to stay home, so I explored the city with Andy and Moira Irvine.  They are a lovely missionary couple from Scotland.  I really enjoyed spending the day with them.  The others that stayed behind were sick.  I also got the opportunity to dog sit.  It was not the weekend I had hoped for, but it was a good weekend.  God knows what I need even when I do not.  He always comes through.  I truly love my life here.
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.  2 Corinthians 4:16-18
