The sister project to Jireh is the same kind of afterschool program, but for kids who live in jail with their parents or with other family members other than their parents (who are in jail). They are looking to reach out to the families that are high risk. I found out that my job will be a little more advanced than I had believed. Because I have a degree in Christian Counseling, they want me to work at both projects to help the children adjust to how their live have been lived and how they are. I will still begin with building their trust and hopefully help them see a different future.
I am very excited and they seem to be also. They want me to start toward the end of January when home visits begin. They want me to go into the homes and assess how best to help the children. That is exciting to me because the home really tells you a lot. I also will have to conduct an interview with the government here, so they will know me and I will understand how things work better. Please be praying for me during the many transitions that I am going to be going through from December through February.
Then they also brought infants to Him that He might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” Luke 18:15-17
