My Broken Heart

I don't understand the hate that some people have for others.  The kind of hate that leads to mass murder across the globe.  I do understand anger and how anger can lead you to do things that you normally would not do.  But the kind of hate that could lead to another global war is beyond me.  I understand that in the old testament that God ordered His people to kill nations, to wipe out all living creatures at certain locations and to destroy the world's beauty.  But then came Christ and God gave the great commission to show love, not hate.  He gave a great commandment to love God above all else and to love your fellow human being as much as you love yourself.  I can't find anywhere in there the permission to kill in His name anymore.
God has taken control.  He allows us to live out our lives seeking Him or choosing another direction.  I could be wrong because I don't know everything and I am not preaching a sermon here, but it is breaking my heart to see such evil having so much power over the world.  I thought that when I left the US that what President Obama did would not hurt so much or I would not care so much.
I still remember the anger I felt when he got elected as President.  I remember knowing it was the doom of our nation and that he would only bring a bad era.  I had no idea of how much evil he would allow to be poured into our once strong nation.  I had no idea that one person could bring so much destruction upon his own people.  I am praying that God will open his eyes to the destruction he has caused and will continue to cause if he does not change.  That he will soften his heart and turn to God for redemption.  That he may make some improvements before the next president comes into such a messy office.  That the next President will turn to God and not his own agenda.  That our nation will chose a great revival and want to be a Holy Nation.
Matthew 22:37-39New King James Version (NKJV)
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
