The Jungle

     I love the jungle.  I always have ever since I saw Disney's the Jungle Book. I go there whenever an opportunity presents itself.  When I first went to SIM to be a missionary I asked to be sent to the jungle and they do not send single women to such remote places.  I understood and appreciated them looking out for me.  This weekend I went to the jungle again and it confirmed that I am right where God want me.
     I still love the jungle, but Cochabamba has comforts that the jungle would not offer.  The weather is very nice in Cochabamba and the climate is arid, but not terribly so.  While we were out in the jungle it felt like home in August.  I didn't mind because I was having such a wonderful time.  However, when we went back to the Hostel (which only cost about $7 a night) I realized how good I have it in Cochabamba.  It was so warm that I slept on top of my sheets.  The mosquitos were determined to eat us alive even when we sprayed the door and beds with spray.
     I love the jungle, but I am happy with where God decided to put me.  I will still go visit when I can, but I don't think I would like living there anymore.
My son, if you receive my words,And treasure my commands within you,
So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
Proverbs 2:1-3
