33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need. Acts 4:33-35
I have mostly just talked with people to raise money for Bolivia. I started with people that I believed would support what I was doing. Then, I moved on to other friends and acquaintances. Then I started to network and contacting local churches. For the most part that has worked well for me. I am praying that God puts urgency on the hearts of the people that He has already chosen to be financial partners. I am also praying for the people to have the faith to step out and make the commitment. It is not easy. Most of us struggle financially, so the idea of giving money away (especially money you may not believe you have) is scary. However, I believe that God will bless the giver more than me the vessel going.
Right now I am selling t-shirts that show that my mission to work with street kids is relational, not a charity. It is a tax ride off, but I rather it be about wanting to see God work. My next step will probably be to start contacting local business, but I would prefer not to make this a business transaction. Please be praying for me as I try to follow God's guidance. If you have any suggestions, please contact me. Also, if you are interested in a t-shirt they are $10.
