Family

Family you may not like all the time.  Family you may not see all the.  Family may make you feel unwanted things at times.  However, family is always there when you need them.  They are usually blood, but not always.  I have learned over the years that you do get to chose who your family is.  I chose to love my family no matter what.  Even when I sometimes feel like I do not know them and that they have no clue who I am.  My church family is compacted of people that love me and will be honest with me.  Then there is the family I have chosen. It is just a hand full of people that have entered my life during various stages, but our relationships have been tested and endured.  I am blessed.  I am loved.  God has been good to me.  How could I not love my family.
This week we have been dog sitting my nephew's puppy.  It has been a joy and entertaining.  The puppy is muffin and she keeps nipping at the feet of my parent's dog, Molly.  She wants Molly to play with her so bad, but Molly is 11 years older and can keep up for only so long.

57 As they were walking along the road, a man said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.”  58 Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”  59 He said to another man, “Follow me.”  But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”  60 Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”  61 Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.”  62 Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:57-62
