Language School is more fun than I thought it would be. School here is so different from the States that it amazes me. This structure works a lot better for how my mind functions. I go to class Monday-Friday for four hours. (This week it has been 2-6ish.) Every 45 minutes we change out teachers (the classes are one on one) and every two hours there is a 30 minute break. The structure is great because I don't like to try to speak Spanish in a group. It also means you can start at anytime and you don't have to wait for a semester to begin.
The people are so friendly here, but there is an unlined sociostatus thing going on. That means that everytime I meet someone I have to consider how to talk to them. I never thought about it in the states. We more or less treat everyone the same. If I did that here, I would cause serious insult and close door.
Sorry, this week is so long, but I just want to talk about living experience. I live in a three story house where I have the entire third floor to myself. I have a three sided view of the mountains and a view of a nearby park. The host family consist of Javier(dad), Adriana(mom), Yago(son), and Fay(daughter). They are also hosting two other ladies: Nicole from Switzerland and Celine from France. There is also a cat named Mini.
27 Let them shout for joy and be glad,Who favor my righteous cause;
And let them say continually,
“Let the Lord be magnified,
Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”
28 And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness
And of Your praise all the day long.
And let them say continually,
“Let the Lord be magnified,
Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”
28 And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness
And of Your praise all the day long.
Psalm 3527-28
