I have learned during this process to get to Bolivia that mission work is not for the fearful. I have had to rely on God and allow Him to show me things that I never knew were in me to persevere and to be fearless. I have had anxiety and He took it away. I have had doubt and He provided confidence. I have had fear of failure, of never making my goal, and He is still working on my heart.
"And do not be frightened or intimidated in anything by your opponents and adversaries, for such will be a clear sign to them of destruction, but of their deliverance and salvation, and that from God." Philiippians 1:28
I have learned that God is using this process not only to teach me and make me a stronger messanger, but to strengthen and encourage others. After all, missions is not about the individual. Missions is about being a servant to God and loving others through that service. There is so many ways to be that: a parent, pastor, sunday school teacher, school teacher, working in an orphanage, and so much more. We just need to keep lifting each other and correcting through love and not fear.
