"For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him we cry, "Abba, Father"."
Romans 8:15
I want to start the New Year right and share what God is showing me again. I have spent a lot of time on reflection on doing what is best. I finished 2016 strong with studying the Bible in a year, but then I was like where do I go now. On an impulse I went to the Glossary of my Bible this morning. The first word I saw was Abba. I found three chapters that used the word. It feels like a good start to the year, to chose clear topics to study, to influence my walk.
I don't want to talk about the things that need to change or that I want to improve. I want to focus on all God has done for me, so I am going to follow Danielle Ruff's format for ending her 2016.
January: I moved into my own apartment
February: I started working at Jireh
March: I found my church family in Cochabamba
April: I really began to settle into my life here and the culture shock began to fade
May: I went to an Evan Craft Concert
June: Went on my first ministry trip
July: Celebrated my birthday in a New Country
August: Visited Machu Picchu and started to grow in confidence
September: I began to see where God is leading me in the next step of my service to Him
October: Started working for that direction to happen
November: really allowed some people to love on me
December: time of reflection and friends
I also want to thank all my friends and family that have been here for me emotionally and prayerfully if they can't be here for me physically too. Last night was an amazing way to bring in the New Year. A vegetable dinner, healthy and fulfilling, along with good music, laughter, edifying talk, and card games. It was one of the best I have ever had.
