"To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind."
Ecclesiastes 2:26
I like to think about what happy really means. In the American culture we surround our selves with the things that make us happy. Some people will do anything to try to stay happy all the time. In the Bible Jesus has moments of happiness like the rest of us, but His life did not revolve around it. I like to be happy just as much as the next person. I even sometimes wish that I did not have to go through the trials that life in general offer. However, I chose to try to find contentment, loyalty, and love over happiness.
For the last two years my life has been in constant transition and change. Especially in 2014, but this month could really drown me if I let it. Some of the changes are good and some are challenging. I chose to stop and take a breath, look around me, and thank God for all He is doing in my life. By doing that I am able to find happiness and not just contentment. This week I met with a Pastor that was really encouraging. He is pushing His church to pray more and to rely on God no matter how things look around you. God put us into each others path this week for the purpose to encourage each other. I challenge you to find someone this week to encourage and allow God bring you a moment of happiness through it.
